All Off-Road athletes will compete on the same course based on skill and ability. Note that the course is difficult and technical and not designed for beginners. When you register, choose one of the following categories and enjoy competing against athletes with your same skill level:
Expert - This category is for advanced, expert or pro competitors. You're an experienced off-road racer who consistently finishes at or near the top of your age group.
Sport - This category is for intermediate athletes who are skilled in off-road racing. You may or may not have consistently placed in your age group and you generally compete for the enjoyment of the sport.
Relay - This category is for those who like to either run or bike, but not both. One team member runs at the beginning and the end, and the other bikes in the middle. Be sure to enter your team name on your registration. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative team name.
Off Road Course
The 11k run course will traverse the dry rocks, gravel road, the 42nd street stairs and Buttermilk Trail. The 21k mountain bike course includes Belle Isle, Buttermilk Trail, Forest Hill Park and the North Trail with the same course used for the East Coast Championships of the XTERRA event. Youth can become annual members for $5 either online or at packet pick-up. One day licenses are not available for youth.
