Congratulations to everyone who participated and thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors who made the event possible!

Special recongnition goes to Endorphin Fitness and West Point for winning the Club and Collegiate Championships. And to Scott Geary and Deborah Peterson for winning the most creative Du Duo Team Name, A Boy, A Girl, and A Bike. Congratulations!

Whether you’re a first-time duathlete or a hard-core competitor, there is something for everyone at the National Duathlon Festival!  Historic downtown Richmond plays host to all things Duathlon. Stay in a downtown hotel and walk to the transition area, restaurants, and shopping. New on-road and off-road courses will enhance the competitors experience in 2009. The post-race tailgate party, on-course spectator party zone and vendor expo combined with great racing provides for one awesome Du weekend!

New Course Video Tour and Maps

See the courses first-hand with new course video tours!  If you competed last year, use the videos to see how the courses have improved based on your feedback.   If it’s your first time in the event, what better way to prepare than to check out the courses with your own eyes?  Want even more info?  Check out the on-road and off-road event links on the left-side menu for written course descriptions, maps and elevation charts.

New Divisions Added

To spice things up, look at all the new classifications and race divisions we’ve added this year:

  • Physically Challenged Divisions
  • Club Championship - Points will be awarded for finishers in the on-road age group championships and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place USAT-registered clubs will be given prize money.
  • Collegiate Division - Are you part of a college team and think you’re number one? Win your school a national title!
  • Du Duo Relay - Grab a friend and form a Du Duo Relay team. One team member will run and the other bike. 
  • Double Du - Compete in the same category in both the off-road race on Saturday and the on-road race on Sunday and win a special Double Du finishers medal!
